SCOTTISH SIX DAY TRIAL 2017- Charlotte Brown

INTRODUCTION- By Charlotte Brown

For me, the Scottish Six Day Trial has been the highlight of my year since I was tiny. I went to my first SSDT in 2000, when I was 2 months old (unsurprisingly, I don't remember much) and have been every year since (with the exception of 2016, where I unfortunately had to miss the year due to exams!)

SUNDAY 30TH APRIL 2017- Parade Day

We watched the parade that kick starts (no pun intended) the SSDT every year through Fort William High Street. This year the sun was shining and there was no sign of rain- an unusual sight for Fort William! We also had a new addition to the family with us this year- our cocker spaniel puppy Skye came up with us and loved meeting so many new people and dogs throughout the week, as well as getting plenty of exercise in the Scottish air. Skye originally came from Forres near Inverness so was back on 'home turf' for the week!

We also got our SSDT 2017 hoodies and bobble hats (although the sun was shining all week!) from Nick and Nige at Trials UK in the Parc Ferme.

Back towards Fort William on the Corran Ferry- although we had to wait over two hours in the queue!

Saturday is a fairly good day for spectating, although was rather rushed for us trying to catch Dad and Lee at various intervals between sections for refuelling. Amelia and I sprinted down Fort William High Street to catch them at Town Hall Brae!

The final day was as sunny as the rest, a highly unusual occurance for Fort William!

Well done to all of the riders who finished, see you again next year!
